The hike takes off from the artist point parking lot at an elevation of 5,220 feett. Hike the chain lakes trail and in 0.25 mile, turn right on the table mountain trail. First 1/2 mile is straight up, but then the trail flattens at the turn to artist point which has a spectacular view of the valley.
